Today marks the return of Futuro Pelo, aka Benjamin Sportes, with a new track Stromboli (+music video) and the announcement of a new album, Sketches of Loss.

Active on the alternative scene since 1983, he forged his reputation over fifteen years with Sporto Kantes, including memorable performances at La Cigale, Le Trianon, Le Bataclan, La Route Du Rock, Marsatac, Cabaret Vert, Les Transmusicales, and Printemps de Bourges… The artist has traded Paris for a brutalist studio in Brussels, at the Brussels Unlimited Noise Klub, where he retreated to write this new chapter.

With “Stromboli,” Futuro Pelo delivers an abrasive and hypnotic first single on the Brussels label EXAG’ Records. The first track from Sketches of Loss, the song is a raw discharge where creation and destruction collide without filter. Driven by a minimal and tense rhythm, it progresses like an incantatory trance. Benjamin Sportès hammers “shame about myself” like a mantra, transforming inner chaos into sound material, up to the point of explosion. The title evokes an intimate eruption: a struggle between self-loss and the desire for rebirth, between paralysis and the vital necessity to feel again. It announces a visceral, stripped-down album, where Futuro Pelo returns to the most direct and frontal essence of rock.
