Co-released alongside our friends at Howlin’ Banana Records and À Tant Rêver Du Roi, the ferocious debut full-length from Paris crank wave five-piece chest. is officially unleashed.
Recorded and self-produced in autumn 2025 at the legendary Studio La Frette—the historic mansion outside Paris that birthed landmark records from Nick Cave and Arctic Monkeys—Happy, Broken. captures a band running headfirst into the friction between human vulnerability and industrial pulse. Following their acclaimed 2025 EP All Good Things End and relentless touring alongside live powerhouses like DITZ, Heavy Lungs, and Jehnny Beth, chest. have forged a sound that positions them at the absolute forefront of an uncompromising new wave of French alternative rock.
Across ten incendiary tracks, Happy, Broken. bridges the nervous tension of post-punk with pounding techno rhythms, jagged noise rock, and shoegaze atmospheric weight. From the caustic urgency of standout singles like "Otto," "Lotus Eater," and "Entertainment" to the expansive emotional weight of closer "I'm Proud," this is a record that refuses to stand still. It is frantic, cathartic, and deeply human.
